Entry 13 of 33 | show all | print this entry

We are now in Zhangmu, Tibet, the last town before Nepal on the friendship highway.  It doesn't even feel like Tibet here anymore.  We are off the Plateau and is is now green and forested, tropical even, and humid - a lot more like tyhe subcontinent than anywhere else.  The air smells of curry and we can already taste Nepal at our fingertips.  We are leaving for the border, only 8 km away tomorrow at 9am and will be in Kathmandu around noon Nepal time (2:15 hrs earlier than China) tomorrow!  We are really excited to be heading to Nepal.
