Since we havn't got around to doing much besides lying on the beach and drinking at the hostel i'll just write a little about my impressions of America so far. Only being in Hawaii I'm thinking this is only but a small slice of the pie but already it's pretty obvious why this is the land of capitalism.

Yes, Walmarts sell everything and they are open 24 hours. They are actually quite awesome, I bought a prepaid phone with 20 'bonus minutes' for 9 US dollars at Walmart. I doubt you could even buy an second hand phone by itself for that in Australia. Walmart also sells just about everything you could want from food, drinks (coke is only 5 dollars for 24 cans....) to BB guns, hunting knives and beach towels. For some reason being in Walmart was erriely like being in a supersized Big-W.

The currency is pretty awesome at first, having 1 dollar notes kicks ass. However the awesome wears off when you soon realize everything has a 5% tax on top of the price (not a problem in itself as the GST is 10%) which means rather than being like 2.99 its actually 3.13. The nickles, dimes and quarters pile up fast when your paying for stuff in whole bills and my wallet sucks for holding change (should have listened to mum! :( ). Cant upload any pics until we find a decent computer but some are coming I promise! Update again asap. Hope everyone is safe. Note: Dave come to Hawaii, there is like 700 million Karoke bars here, I need someone to jam with.
