Sam: There is not that much to say about Hong Kong. We spent two highly stressful days trying to sort out our flights as our flight to Bangkok was cancelled. The airline were rubbish! They took no responsibility for it at all. Our options were to fly straight to Australia or pay thousands of pounds to get to Singapore. I wasn't ready to go to Australia as i was looking forward to south east asia so much. So we basically had to go to the airlines main office in a completely different part of Hong Kong, and after tears and an angry Giles they aggred to fly us to Vietnam for free! And thats where we are now. From what we saw of Hong Kong it was expensive, Very! With lots n lots of indian restaurants and irish pubs. We are in Vietnam (Ho chi minh) for 3 days and we just booked a luxury beach resort after that, to treat ourselves after the stress! We are going to extend our stay in south east asia to 3 months (to cover vietnam, cambodia, laos and thailand) Because we love it here. It is silly cheap and just beautiful and so relaxed. I figure 3 months is long enough for me to work on my tan and toad boy on his belly. Not much else to report for now xxx

Giles:  Three months to work on my belly, going inward or outward Ms Bonito??  I think we all know with these silly prices which way it's going...  but at least my face is cleaner!
Anyway, Hong Kong, nightmare as Sam has said.  Didn't get to see any of the city apart form the office districts searching for airline companies.  And then the visa was good fun - they wern't too keen on giving us visas to Vietnam on the spot until I said I was with the police in England... then it was pure hassle free and we got them signed and sealed instantly.  Weird country...
One funny thing to mention though, hauling our backpacks through Hong Kong's MTR (underground) system, Sam, somehow, managed to get stuck on the turnstyle and couldnt move!  No space to turn due to the backpack and no idea why she was stuck - all she could was was call out for help but I was laughign too much to do anything!  An angry Cantonese lady hoisted her backpack off in the end who managed to break a smile when she saw us both laughing, but still, thought that would be one for the travel blog!
Glad to be out of Hong Kong now, a mnth in China land is more than enough (although I coudl still com eback but for a shorter amoutn of time).  Also Hong Kong was so overly expensive - a fiver for a pint!!  Definitely our most expensive place so far.
In Vietnam now, completely different on the price front, but will update with another blog soon - just need a pin in the map for Hong Kong!

Much love, Gam and Siles xxx
