Our first trip South has been VERY successful. The bus journey was calm and comfortable and overnight. And we arrived to our welcoming hostel, which was very cute. A funny looking German man owned it, with his wife, who looked native. The first day there we did a tour of the area and luckily had awesome weather. There is a Volcano there too, and its active and had an erruption in 1984. We went to some hot springs nearby and they were supposed to be natural but i am not too sure. We met some rather interesting people too, a girl and her mother from Australia, and an older woman who was very "uppity" and ready to leave. She reminded me of Miss Figees and Miss Harriet. The next day we went White Water Rafting, and i was a little dubious as the rest of our group were only men and they were all older and I felt rather intimidated. But turned out they were all quite nice and they were on a "Business trip". I got sick, not sure if it was a bug or from the Chicken, the next day we travelled to CHiloe. This weird Island where we are now. NOt too sure how keen I am on it but will update you about it later on in the week.
Awful journey here, not only did I feel rough but also the bus terminals.!!! I donīt understand how they function, kind of a guessing job. You buy the ticket and then just hope the next bus that pulls up is yours. No showing of ticket until you are on the bus and 20 mins away from the terminal, ??? And then natives changing their kids diapers on the seat next to you. YUM.
Anyway, off on our next adventure. Pucon was lots of fun!
