I caught the early bus outa dodge (aka, Queenstown) this morning. It was freezing. It was so cold, in fact, that there was frost on the ground in places on our way to Dunedin. The vineyards were employing helicopters to blow hot air down on the vines, so they wouldn't freeze.
I arrived in Dunedin early enough that I could have a shower, do laundry, and still hit the town. The hostel I'm staying in is a YHA hostel a 15 minute trek from the "octagon", the centre of town. The hostel is an old hospital with plenty of character. It is funny how hospitals all have this "eerie" feeling about them, and the retired ones are no different. I would definitely have the "heebie-jeebies" if I was wandering around here alone. That being said, the place is cosy and well-kept.
I didn't do too much today. I'm still feeling a bit down and out and am quite pissed at Telus, who is now refusing to respond to me. It is sunny though, and I'm on a bus tomorrow, so hopefully I pull out of my mood.
