I had elected to stay in a separate hostel from the bus in Franz. I had hoped to hitch to Fox and spend a day there, but the bus was over-booked and I was afraid of loosing my place.

A must do in either Franz or Fox is the glacier hike. I headed up with a tour group my second day, after a good nights sleep in my double bed, with no snoring room-mates (heaven to a backpacker).

The hike was about six hours on the glacier and was the longest tour they offered, but wasn't as physically demanding as I had expected. The glacier was rather dirty from the lack of rain over the past week. The sun also took this time to disappear. Despite all this, it was a good experience.
