I think every table in the bloody place is busted. Damn Starbucks. Kiwis hate Starbucks, but keep coming back because it's the only place that serves coffee after 5 PM, and before 10 am.

Work has gotten better. I'm spending some time in the office now and am really learning things. Too bad I still can't learn how to pronounce any of these bloody names. Every time I say Tauranga, someone grimaces. At least they are no longer dropping what they do and glaring.

The flat is working out well. The area is slowly waking up now that it is slowly starting to warm up. I've managed to run around in shorts today without freezing my ass off. We are still a ways away from bikini season though, so no speedo pictures of me yet!

It is the Labour-Day long weekend. The last before Christmas. I was thinking about visiting some friends in Nelson, but was put off by what I figured to be a good 10 to 12 hours trip each way. I think I will try to take a long-weekend off in late November, when I have more time to plan. This may be hard because I've already taken a day off to go sky-diving soon.

I hae started to settle into a bit of a "minor" routine, which is making life more enjoyable. I'm making lunches and eating out less. I've started running and haven't been drunk in over two weeks! My liver has never been so thankful to be alive.

I'm planning on learning to surf. I just bought a wet-suit and plan to take lessons soon. I figure I'll wait until November when it starts to warm up; the wet suit is kind of skin tight and the cold leaves certain areas looking not-so-flattering. On another note, I just bought some socks!

Thanks to a previous roommate, the Mount seems to remind me of "the O.C.". The climate is the obvious beginning, but than there is the age gap; there are almost no twenty-somethings here. And most of us are backpackers. I've heard that in the area 20-something year old women outnumber men four-to-one. I have come to the conclusion that all the women must be hidden on some secret island somewhere. All the young people seem to be teenagers. They are all rich, spoiled and try their best to mimic "North-American trash". The kind you see on teeny soap-operas. I've seen way too many 18 year olds with BMW's that are missing mufflers; an act that seems more pathetic than cool. There also seem to be a lot of pimple-faced "low-riders" cruising around and throwing around mummy and daddy's money.
