The flight back down to Sydney was cheap. Getting there wasn't.

The Gold Coast has horrible public transport. And the airport is so far away from Surfers, that it would probably have been cheaper and easier to fly out of Brisbane. I tried to catch a bus to the airport with plenty of time to spare, but the buses don't seem to run on time, or I can't read the timetables or something, because I didn't find one bus that appeared when scheduled. The one bus I did see zoomed by me because I had turned around for a second and didn't get a good enough chance to wave it down. I finally gave up and ran into town. 15 minutes of searching later, I finally found a cab that took me to the airport for close to $50. To put things into perspective I paid $70 for the flight. Tack on the transport from Sydney airport to central and that pushes it even closer to the cost of the flight. This starting up in a new city thing is expensive.

I got into town early evening and put myself up at the YHA again, this time in a big, relatively cheap ($30 a night) room. I figured people would be snoring wherever I go, so I may as well save the five bucks. Hell, ten nights of this and I pay for that cab ride!

The next day I finalized the banking process, so now I have a bank account. It's ridiculous that it takes almost 2 weeks to set up a place to store my money.

I need to start working.
