Tuesday, Local time 7:45pm

What a start!  As you may have heard, the Fusion arrived and conquered!  Our first game this afternoon, against a Denmark team, was an overwhelming success!  11-0 Fusion (Team Canada, sounds kind of funny even here!)

Our girls got it together, what a team they were out there!

Says Dean:  "A groggy wakeup, nerves settling in, first thing this morning.  A game complete with quality touches, all hands on. The Fusion played the way they can, their opponents gave us a good game to get the bugs out despite a 36 hour trip; sportsmanship displayed all around.  Keep the tempo girls, get our game on again tomorrow and don't take anything for granted. 2 contests in 1 day tomorrow, you want this, keep it up!   Our girls have had great team bonding experiences so far, acclimatizing themselves to this new culture.  Weather has been on our side today for a travel weary team, just warm enough with a cool breeze and overcast sky keeping them onside."

With just the one game today the group had some time this afternoon for an adventure into town.  Shopping was great, lots to see in these cobblestone streets. Picked up massive amounts of fruit and salads amongst the group, trying to keep the girls' ingestion of bread, cheese and frankfurts to a minimum.  Our girls are having a hard time with the meal selections, lots and lots of bread, ketchup, and warm milk.  Culture shock is setting in, but they are all open and willing to try!

Fun game in the mess hall, gaining in popularity as the meals proceed.  We have our meals in a large gymnasium looking building, open to all teams.  The benches are not in balance and fly up with a bang, so the game, which of course started by accident, is to have all members of the table jump up at once, leaving one poor soul on the end to fly.  This happens to the thunderous applause of the entire hall; well, wouldn't you know it our little angels decided to get their own 2 cents in and poor Zoe took the trip!

Girls are having a stretch and practice, followed by an early night in!  Big day tomorrow, games at an early 9:10am and 3pm!  Wish us luck, more to come!
