We made it all the way to Lawrenceburg before we stopped for lunch and decided to call it a day. If it weren't for the heat, I would've wanted to push on for a few more sales. We've been in the 90's and 100's since we arrived in Kentucky and they have had 'Heat Advisories' out every day because the heat index brings the temperature up to 105 to 107. When you're outside, it feels like your skin is cooking, and I suppose it is.
After lunch we took a scenic route back to Harrodsburg were we would be spending the night
After checking into our motel we relaxed in our room waiting for our friends to arrive from Oregon. Two of my garage sale buddies from Oregon were flying out to meet us for the sales. They showed up around 6pm and once they got settled we had a chance to catch- up and visit we went out to dinner. We found a Mexican Restaurant in downtown Harrodsburg that was open. After dinner we walked a short way up the street to a small open paved park area. There was a large waterfall at one end and both sides were lined by the old brick walls from the neighboring buildings. The walls were covered with vines and there were thousands of birds flying in and out of the vines. We weren't sure if they were feeding babies in their nests or if they were picking bugs off all the vine leaves. It was hard to tell, some seemed to got in deeper than the others. I suppose they could've been doing both.
