My feet look so pretty now! After being beautified, Brandon and I had some lunch and headed to the pool. Today there was an event called "The Big Daddy Splash Contest". Basically anyone can sign up. The contestants get to jump in the pool with the intention of creating the biggest splash. It seemed like a lot of fun, however when we saw the people who were entering we realized we didn't stand a chance. None of the jumpers were as impressive as I thought they were going to be, but it was still fun to watch them try(being 300 lbs means nothing without a good technique). After a little while, thunder began to sound so everyone had to get out of the pool. We got in our car and started to head back to the condo, however we decided it might be fun to drive through the neighborhoods looking at the different names people name their houses. Did you know its customary to name your house in the Outer Banks? Seems a little pompous but some of the names are quite cute. We decided to go around looking for the names that we either the most comical or the most snobbish. Here is the first place for the most snobbish house name that we found. If you cant see it in the picture, it reads "My Ocean"....seriously?
Others include "My First Place" accompanied by a trophy emblem and "Dreams do come true". Luckily there are many more cute and funny names than those that make you gag. My favorite was one that read "Momma's Happy, Daddy's Broke".
There are many more pictures of different house names in this blog's album. Check them out! Oh and Aunt Candy, if you are reading this, this one is for you.
Today marked our 3rd full day at the Outer Banks. I become so lazy when I'm on vacation. I find myself taking naps constantly as if doing nothing is exhausting. Yesterday we went out to get Brandon some skim board wax. We found some at a bait and tackle shop of all places. While there I also found something that was a blast from my past. I don't know if anyone remembers mood changing lipstick but I used to be in love with it. So imagine my excitement when I found some hidden amongst the gag toys. After returning home, Brandon waxed up his board and we went to the beach. I still cannot fathom how Brandon can stay balanced on that board. Its like skateboarding in the water! After a little while we returned home for lunch. Next we headed to the resort's pool. The water was much warmer than the ocean so we were able to enjoy some swim time. I really wish we could find a group of kids who would play marco polo with us. Pool games are so much fun! Today I decided that I really wanted a pedicure. I haven't had one since I was 16. I felt so badly for the nail girl. My feet are in really bad shape. I probably could step on glass and wouldn't feel it with how thick my calluses are.
