The Grand Palace complex was magnificent. We joined hundreds of other tourists to explore and walk around the ornate temples, stupas, the library, the coronation areas... The Emerald Buddha (actually made of jade) has a long history of travels but is now housed in a special temple on the grounds. A very, very hot morning... So we appreciated getting back to the air-conditioned bus, the cold wipes and iced water.

Our next stop was at the Marble Hall, a Classical Revival palace built by King Rama V. In more recent years it was used by the Parliament. It is now the home for a special project of the queen which showcases traditional Thai arts as recreated by talented students.

Evening entertainment was dinner and dramatic performances at Siam Niramit -- traditional dancing, a village with examples of traditional Thai houses, and the history of Siam in dance.

Note to readers: For more info on above, do a Google search.

Note #2: We were without Internet access for a few days and I am having trouble posting pictures right now. I'll try to catch up with narrative in the next few days and pictures later. Just know that we are having a fabulous time !!!
