. He is a lawyer, interesting guy, very tranquil, his brother lives here and he lives in La Paz. Bought a hat and gloves as it is going to be cold on the trip!! The people here look amazing, there traditional cloths, bowler hats, colouful blankets, alpaca jewelry, .. but also their featurs: big cheeks, darker skin. Had a pizza in tupiza and went to the hostel. Got a private room for 35Bs (less than 4€) but no internet nor breakfast.. No internet is annoying as from tomorrow morning until saturday lunch i will be staying in places with no electricity so i guess no internet neither! Saturday at 14h we arrive in Uyuni where I expect there will be a bar with wifi. so dont get worried if you dont hear from me for a while! I got a bit used to having wifi everyday in all the other places i have been.
I realised that villazon and that area was higher than la paz and i dont have any altitude problems yet! that is good, knock on wood!! Here it is also high but less than Villazon and warmer too!
So far i have always been able to use my charger, all plugs fit!! That is very handy :-). I keep wondering what i would think of this trip if i hadnt been to ethiopa. I think i appreciate everthing more 'you have showers? Wauw thats amazing, with hot water?! What a luxury!!'
From jujuy to la quiaca, glad i didnt take the night bus, it was a magnificent national geographic episode, beautiful mountains!! Then walked accros the border into bolivia (1h further away from home - 6h difference now) and met Hugo Mariscal, a western looking bolivian guy also with the argentinian identity. He suggested to take the taxi to Tupiza, its only 25Bs (2,5€) and you dont have to wait for a bus. A bit more than 1h to drive by taxi from not very interesting looking vilazon to pretty tupiza (the train doesnt go on tuesdays, and was happy the taxidriver was sober as bus drivers are often drunk apparently). In tupiza i got a hostel which is supposed to be good and some money from the ATM, again with a local limit, but no extra costs here.. Checked some tourist offices for prices to visit Salar de Uyuni. There was a jeep with 3people from france who were looking for a fourth person, perfect!! The tour sounds amazing!! Payed for the ticket (incl sleeping bag!) and walked round town with Hugo
