Chocolate sprinkles and thick chocolate milk in the morning. The breakfast of Dutch champions. We spent the day exploring our home base of Utrecht. What a beautiful city. Canals, narrow cobbled streets, funky shops, cosy eateries, hanging flower baskets and bicycles. Bikes from the left, bikes on the right, bikes along the ledges, bikes crisscrossing the streets, bikes behind us, bikes in front of us, bikes, bikes, bikes!!! Pleasantly surprised not to get knocked over and relieved not to cause a major pile up! We did indulge in kroekets, frites with mayo and warm stroopwaffels (and a Dutch beer or two).

In the afternoon the boys showed Wessel and Sjors some Aussie rules. And we ran to Wessel's soccer training. All the kids on their bikes with either hockey sticks or musical instruments on their backs heading out to evening training.

Renske made us a tradition Dutch meatball dinner which was a huge hit.

Lovely evening spent with Renske and Frank.
