We have arrived for a short visit in Warsaw.  Our introduction to the cold this morning was not so much a baptism of fire, but a baptism of snow and ice!

We finally got in at 10.38am after 6 train journeys and five countries (England, France, Belgium, Germany and Poland). We managed a really quick walk and beer near the stations at Brussels and Cologne.

We arrived this morning to be greeted with a blizzard!  Slightly unprepared as Warsaw was 0 degrees when we left home and is -9, but was -14 during the day!  We couldn't book into the hostel so couldn't change into our thermals etc with us!  Not good!

But after some soup and a warming kebab we came back and got getted kitted out.  We then went out for walk looking like Scott of the Antarctic!  Really nice place, and would love to see it without a frozen face!  Lots of Christmas trees everywhere and looks like a scene from a christmas card!

we're off to brave the cold again now to find some mulled beer and big chunks of grilled meat.  Not sure when we'll see vegetables again!

Got to catch the 7.20am train tomorrow to Vilnius, Lithunia which is currently -17 with a max temp of -11!
