Wednesday 19th November...

Well I returned to the wildlife sanctuary on Saturday 8th and have been sooo busy since then. The 8th was the last day of Loy Kratong (festival of the floating lights) where everyone makes little floating decorations with flowers and candles and incense, so everyone from the village came to the centre to float theirs on the lake. I surprised little Pin who I dont think knew I was coming back and met all the new volunteers. There was only one who was still there when I had been there last - Truls. This time there were a lot of older people which was different as last time it had been people mainly in their 20s but now there is a couple in their 60s, a woman of 50 and a guy of 46, but it makes a nice change although the place is a lot quieter.
The first two days I was there were spent finishing off the ebar enclosure which had only just started when I left before Bailey
Bailey
. On the Tuesday we let the 4 bears into the new enclosure without too much hassle apart from me getting bitten, Thankfully it was only by one of the smaller bears but it was still pretty painful!
Quite a few things have moved round since I was last here. The old puppies have gone and now one of the other dogs has had puppies which are now about 2 weeks old. My roomate Susan and I have acquired a kitten as it was being looked after by Daan one of the other volunteers but he had to move rooms so I am now being kept awake by what appeared at first to be a cute kitten but I think is actually possessed.
So far Ive not done much except work, work, more work, and drink whisky, so not a lot to tell but I've been having a good time with the new lot and have kept up my job of constantly taking the piss out of people.
I supposedly had two days off on Sunday/Monday but it involved going with Truls, Bram and Edwin to stay in Ranong in southern Thailand and then over to Burma to get a new visa. Then the next day we rescued 2 gibbons - one of 2 months and one of 2 and a half years - so it wasn't really much of a break from work. Have had a couple of good nights out in Hua Hin though where everyone else except me and Truls has drunk so much they've been sick, and I still manage to get up bright and early at 6:30 the next morning looking half decent while everyone else looks dead.
Can't believe I will be home in less than 2 weeks - its quite scary. And also the cold will be something to look forward to...
Will probably not be much else to tell apart from boring animal news till I get back (December 1st) so see most of you soon..!
