Tuesday 7th October...

Realised yesterday that although we've been in Saigon for a couple of days now, we haven't actually seen anything as we've been spending too much time shopping! There's a massive market in copied CDs and DVDs here and they're so cheap. CDs are only 40p and DVDs are 80p. The good thing about this is, you can buy complete crap as its so cheap. I ended up with the Greatest Hits of Duran Duran and Lilo and Stitch 2 on DVD (which I didn't even know existed - I think it must've been straight to Asian DVD) while Janine has various cheese including Spandau Ballet, Kylie and Take That.

Went on a mission to try and find some tacky souvenirs yesterday as it said in my Lonely Planet guide that there was a market which sold everything - even wind up monkeys that play cymbals. Couldn't find one of these though so I was really disappointed. Alexis - I know you would've wanted one too.

Decided we should do something a bit culture-y yesterday so we went to the War Remnants Musuem. Although most of the explanations alongside the photos were in Vietnamese, it was still pretty nasty, especially since they had photos showing graphic detail of those Vietnamese that were injured by "Orange Agent" and Napalm and Phosphorous bombs.

Was a sad moment this morning when we had to check out of our plush hotel as we're now going to have to rough it again. Although when we got the bill we were glad we hadn't stayed too much longer!
Off to Mui Ne which is a small, white sand beach tonight, for a couple of nights, and then onto Nha Trang which is a bigger beach resort for a few days before we head on up the coast towards Hanoi.

Hope everyone is well!
