p.s. On way home last night Natalie decided to try one of the fried crickets they sell here on Khao San Road. Thai's don't eat them normally, they're just some kind of tourist attraction.
She also got chatted up by the lady who runs the internet cafe, which I found really funny, but she didn't...

Monday 5th August...
Me and Natalie spent our last day visiting some of the temples in Bangkok. We caught the river boat to Chinatown which is only about 10p but some woman tried to charge us about 3 quid! Got horribly lost in Chinatown and ended up in some alley which was full of old engine parts. The fact that Natalie then realised she'd left her map in a shop wasn't great! We got approached by a man who said he was a lawyer and wanted to help us at which we were a bit suspicious Buddha Shrine

. The majority of Thai people are really friendly and helpful but there's obviously a lot who are trying to rip you off. Anyway this bloke was good and told us we should go and get everything arranged for our journeys tomorrow through the TAT (tourist office). He wrote it down in Thai and got us a tuk tuk for about 30p. He also showed us business cards of his American lawyer friends in Beverley Hills. I'm not quite sure why but nevermind...
We went to Wat Pho (big temple) where we sort of got our fortunes told (I think...). You basically sit in front of one of the shrines and hold a tube full of sticks and shake it until one falls out. You read the number on it and then take a piece of paper from the pile with that number on. Mine was good and told me stuff like I will have a safe time travelling!
We then crossed the river (which is a lovely shade of brown) to Wat Arun (temple of dawn) which is decorated with loads of pieces of broken pottery, like a mosaic.
On our way home we got caught in torrential rain which has been going on for the last 2 hours. I swear I'll never complain about rain in England again!

Anyway that really is it for the next month or so, probably.
Off to start work tomorrow...
