Always save the best till last. Kaikoura was our last stop and we'd booked to go swimming with dolphins which we were both really looking forward to despite the extortionate costs. It didn't look good though and the skies clouded over and it rained the first day then the wind picked up the second.
I didn't think we were going to get to go, but Simon thought we would.
As it turns out he was right - he got to go and I didn't. I was violently sea sick. If they'd just dropped me into the sea I would've been fine, but the long boat trip over stupidly bumpy water to find the damn dolphins was too much for me so I spent about 2 hour with me head in a bucket. Well, alternating buckets, as the tour guide was kind enough to refresh them for me.

When I did glance up to see the action though it looked a bit manic Dolphin

. Everyone jumped in and thrashed about trying to attract the dolphins attention who probably just wondered why the hell people bothered them making stupid noises 3 times a day. Simon valiantly said it was crap and that I probably wouldn't have liked it cos there were too many people which I think might be right.

Still, it sucks when you can't do the one thing you were really looking forward to.

On the up-side we did spot some orcas (killer whales which are actually dolphins) which was amazing, so at least I got to see something. And on the way to the shops we also saw some mountains as if appearing out of nowhere and threatening to take over the earth, which reminded me of after I went to see War of the Worlds with Mel and we thought to pipes in the car park ceiling were after us.

Off to sunny Oz on Tuesday, where we're staying in Simon's friend's plush apartment whilst they're back home in Ireland, although we have to abide by the house rules.

But until then we're back in Christchurch and have just purchased the Official Scrabble words book. I can guess what we'll be doing for the rest of the night.
I think we may have a addiction problem.
