Well after a boring 11 hour flight stuck between 2 fat men, 1 with bad B.O., I arrived back in Bangkok and it seemed just like yesterday that I left. Doesn't say alot for what I've done in the last 6 mnths does it?! Took me ages to get through passport control as I managed to get in the wrong queue which took forever, while everyone else was speeding through. I did the old "shall I get in another queue cos it seemed quicker" thinking, but then had the old "what if I get in that queue and then my old queue starts moving" thought. I always thought I was an exception to the rule about the British hating queueing but obviously not. To be honest staying in the nice air conditioned airport probably would've been better than waiting for half an hour in the muggy heat for the bus.

I was sitting with 3 aussies on the bus who had just come from London and since I was off to Oz soon decided I may as well stay with them in Bangkok Ao Phai beach, Ko Samet
Ao Phai beach, Ko Samet
. Had a great night out that night but couldn't get to sleep till about 6am and ended waking up at 3:30pm! Having wasted most of the day we went to get a massage and by the time we'd finished it was dark outside! So much for that day then. Went out again that night but drank way too much (I don't think Tequila agrees with me) and was really sick. To top it off the guy I was sharing a room with then started trying it on. Great.
Funnily enough I packed up and went to stay somewhere else the next day.

So after spending another day recovering in Bangkok I headed off to Ko Samet to do some well earned relaxing but have managed to sunburn my tummy and get attacked by mosquitos. So instead of looking all tanned and healthy I look a total mess.

Met a lovely Aussie girl from Adelaide who restored my faith in Aussies, and we chatted for ages about cats, which I'm sure would bore the pants off most people, especially you weird people who hate cats.

I should've learnt from getting stung by jellyfish last time in Ko Samet that I wasn't going to be able to swim much but this time there was some big jellyfish party going on and they all started gathering right by the shore terrorising people Beach at night
Beach at night
. Well maybe just me cos I know how much it hurts when they sting you. There was all this weird jelly debris in the water and I wondered whether someone had taken revenge and hacked all their tentacles (are they tentacles?) off but then I thought maybe they were dying cos the next day there were quite a few washed up on the shore. Does anyone know whether jellyfish die every season or was this some freak mass murder? I'd look it up myself but I really have better things to do, whereas most of you who are probably sat at your desks in cold, miserable, dreary England, don't. Well besides work, but surely this is more important.

My Dr Dolittle-ness returned again as I was surrounded by dogs on the beach. But just as I took a liking to this fairly sweet, if a little mangey, black dog, the 2 sausage dogs from the resort came charging out (when I say charge I mean they kind of waddled very quickly) and started attempting to chase the black dog which did eventually run away, probably afraid the sausage dogs would sit on him.

I think I'm trying to stretch this out to make it seem like I've done stuff, other than consider the lifespan of jellyfish and watch fats dogs chasing other dogs, but really I haven't, so I'll shut up. The cold hard truth is that I've just been sunbathing, reading, eating and sleeping. Shame.

Back in Bangkok now and its Loi Kratong tonight so off to float a floating thing filled with incense, flowers and candles down the smelly, sewagey river.

rolling stone
Is it true that a rolling stone gathers no moss, I figured you would know since you're always rolling about from one country to the other. so how the hell are you (silly question), me and mine we're all well finally settling down in our new life here in sunny Georgia so you see we really don't have time to investigate the case of the murdered jellyfish but I sure some poor soul back in dull Britain does. (is that 1 T or 2 T's, college degree and still can't spell) anyway it's good to hear that you're still doing what you do best (sweet FA) which is exactly what i wish i was doing, do you possibly think that you could take my kids and my husband with you next time and lose them somewhere with the wild animals I'm sure they would fit right in (I know wishful thinking)any way have a great time and make sure you pass my way one day
