The main reason why we extended our stay in Sydney was because of ANZAC day.

Most of you have probably never heard about this. ANZAC Day - 25 April - is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.

To make a long story short, you can decide to get up early in the morning and watch the Dawn service which is very emotional or like me you stay in bed because you are hangover and you join your friends at the Australian hotel at about 1.00pm.

I quickly discovered how to play 2UP which is absolutely crazy but very funny. Two up is played by players who surround a ring and take turns at being the 'spinner'; 'come in spinner' being the call for another spinner to come forward into the ring. The game is managed by a 'boxer'.Basically you bet on Head or Tail with someone in the crowd. The person betting on Head hold the money while the "spinner" throw the coins. If the spinner gets Head and Tail three times in a raw, he has to do 10 push-ups. Otherwhise  you win or lose depending on what you bet on.

The amazing thing is that you can bet whatever you want even though most of the people play for fun and wont bet more than 5, 10 or 20$.
I played all afternoon and ended with 15bucks more than I started. The atmosfear is great, no need to say that beer is floaded and Australian people get very pissed. Some French too for the occasion :-)

I really enjoyed it and would recommend anyone to go to Sydney for the occasion if you are not far. Not much pictures unfortunately a bit too crazy for any good picies.

Have a good one.
