Room 212 : nut case !!!

Have you ever stayed in a youth hostel in a ten bed dorm ?!?

When I first arrived in Sydney i thought that was the greatest idea we ever had as we stayed in two different dorms and met fantastic people with who we had lots of fun and parties. BUT nothing is perfect.

As we booked 4 more nights on the day we were supposed to check out, we had to move room again. After the 3rd floor, the 4th floor they advised us that the only ten bed dorm available was on the 2nd floor. So we moved in 212.

I had the pleasure to meet jeff on my 1st night. Basically a 55 years old men staying in a youth hostel because he has been kicked out from his flat and as he is still a student (?!?!?!?!?!?!) in philosophy he hasn't find any flat/apartment yet to share (who would like to share a flat with a 55 years old man !). Oh well, my sensitive side had pity for him and i was trying to socialize with him as he was always on his own. That was only before I spent the night in the same dorm as him.

Basically this guy is a real nut case ! I know what you'll say : don't judge people if you don't know them, but i know him enough to say that he has got some serious issues.'First of all his hypochondriac side makes him cough, sneeze and sniff every 5 minutes even if he doesn't need to

Secondly he must thinks that he is not clean enough when he is in his bed (even if i have never seen him with different clothes than his jeans and his green t shirt)because he has got a big box of tissues above his bed fixed on the bunk above him and what he did this morning when he came back at 5.30am was trying to clean himself with three dry tissues. In order to give you a best idea, he was lying on his right side, picking up the tissues with his right arm and trying to clean his left arm, underarm and neck. And he repeated this operation every 3 minutes from 5.30am till....we left at 8.00am !!!

No need to say that in the morning there was a huge amount of (un)used tissues on the floor. Absolutely disgusting. oh yeah i also forgot that the same night he loved to squeak his teeth and to make noise with plastic bag. I assume his only intention during the night was to wake up the people in the room so that he wasn't the only one not asleep. ENOUGH FOR ME !!! Awake at 5.30, i took a shower and went straight to the reception to change room, luckily we managed to move straight away and at 8.00am we were in the sanctuary (room for girls only), back to the 4th floor ;-)

Who said that living in youth hostel was fun :-) Going for a breakfast now I really need it :-)
