Iguazu Falls (or Iguassu Falls in the US), or Iguacu Falls/Foz do Iguacu in Brazil... Seriously can't we all just agree on names? Why do we change "Italia" to "Italy"? This "renaming" has always bothered me.

The people from Argentina love their Yerba Mate. They fill their mate cup with the crushed leaves & continuously add hot water to it throughout the day. Then they sip through a straw-spoon that has an end with tiny holes that allow only the "mate tea" water through. They love it so much that we saw countless people carrying big thermoses of HOT water with them on the Iguazu Park trails, in the 90 degree heat. A family of 6 would sometimes each be carrying their own thermos, kids included. I guess I just don't understand the whole mate thing. If I were going to be lugging a big jug around in the heat, I'd make sure it was full of ice.

Quick little rain storms pop up in Puerto Iguazu in a second. Sophia & I were in the hotel pool with a calm sunny sky & out of nowhere 60 mph winds blew through. Soph & I shot out of the now leaf strewn pool & rushed to gather our stuff while employees rushed outside to gather chair cushions, etc. A few minutes later rain followed. The same thing happened two days later.

About the falls, beautiful, of course. And tons of fun on the Argentine side. We spent a full day walking pretty trails. We also took a super fun boat ride that took us up against the falls, completely drenching us. It was a blast & felt so good after walking in the sun & heat. The pics in this blog entry are on the Argentina side of the falls, the side with the much better park & more to see & do.
