We saw a couple black rhino way off in the distance. The day also brought our total lion count to 45 but the highlight was watching a lion hunt a wildebeest. If you check out the video and hear excitement (and no regard for the poor, innocent wildebeest) just know we can't explain it either. Except that it's so freakin cool to see the lion in the first place. And then to watch as he crouched down in the grass like a kitty about to pounce on his catnip filled mouse. I missed the first couple seconds because we were going to have lunch in the Jeep while we waited to see if an animal came closer to the crouching lion. Instead of waiting for a closer target, the lion chased it's prey down like a cheetah when we least expected it.

Transformations: Sophia used to be a picky eater. She's a vegetarian who barely liked vegetables. We had various new African dishes each night chock full of veggies and Sophia LOVED every meal. Me: I'm a coffee snob but can't believe how good instant coffee can taste on a cold morning after camping.
