Tonga

We crossed the dateline, can you find Tonga and the dateline on the map? It was really sunny even tho' it was their winter time. When we arrived everyone said 'hello' they were all really nice. The people were wearing party clothes like Hawaii clothes! They were in skirts with grass skirts tied around them too, even the men.
We bought some bright and colourful fish, when we cooked them the scales all fell off, and they looked disgusting........we made Dad eat them! Yuckh!
We went on a really fast boat trip to Pongiamoto an even smaller Island, we saw a poisonous puffer fish. We adopted a really cute puppy for the day. Two other families were there who were sailing round the world!
We joined in an Island tour with Misa (a really nice man) and he took us to church, the singing was amazing and in Tongan, so I don't know what they were saying! It had a big brass band at the front. We saw the King and the Queen there. After we had some Tongan food,it was raw fish, yam and lamb, and enormous tuna steaks. We drove to an underwater cave where we swam, (there were a few candles, we thought they were glo worms.......silly us!) some Australian people jumped out of the water and scared us........freaky!
On Friday me and Harvey went to school with our friend Rudi, they gave us chocolate cake to fatten us up (and hotdogs!) I really liked the PE sessions they did two a day, but I did a maths and English test, they were easy but the teachers writing was hard to understand. I was asked to go to the front of the class to tell a story about England, I didn't know what to say and everyone was giggling at me, some left the class then told me it was yoga time. If you were naughty, a girl came and hit you with a broom! Harvey got sweets when he answered something right.......he was in Year one so got lots right and lots of sweets!
We really liked Tonga, it was really friendly. The pool table was cool too!
