Last minute stuff & goodbye

After we packed and checked out we wandered into town, said goodbye to Jayson & The Moorings Team. Checked our emails and discovered that our home town has just missed out on being hit by Cyclone Wati but Innisfail copped it. We went to the Mermaid Bar for a big breakfast and were joined by Mike, Matt & Davey. We left one of our t-shirts hanging up as a reminder that the Slapper's Tonga Tour had been and gone. Said our goodbyes to the boys, we had such a good laugh with them and Trace & Kel went shopping for last minute souvenirs. Didn't take long as Vava'ua is a very small town and yet to be touched by mass tourism (thankfully). We dropped into Tonga Bobs Cantina for beer and had a good chat with Bob before heading back to the hotel, collecting our bags and boarding the bus to the airport.
Boarded a very hot plane for the trip back and ended up in the cockpit having a chat with the pilots and taking in the best view from the plane. I was very fortunate. Moses from Pacific Travel met with us and took us on a tour. There isn't really much to see but we did a visit to the Kings Tomb, Ha'amonga, stopped to buy some jewellery and Moses then took us coconut tasting at his farm which was actually quite interesting. We drove to the blowholes which were just spectacular and well worth the visit. They just stretch for miles along the coastline and you could spend hours just being mezmarised by them.
Moses dropped us off at the upmarket Black Pearl (restaurant and hotel) and the girls we hanging out for fresh Lobster, which they ran out of the day before! This was the primary reason for choosing this restaurant! However, we had a great steak and salad, which was devoured in seconds by the salad deprived chicks. We were also joined by 2 nice Kiwi guys and a Croat who was very arrogant & disrespectful of the Tongan people. They were in business in Tonga. Moses came to collect us and reluctantly we were dropped off at the airport, where our flight was delayed by a few hours and boarded for the next leg of our little journey starting in Auckland.
