So, I was sitting on our balcony, having a lovely dinner, just thinking, reflecting, pondering, that kind of thing. And this guy walks over to the bushes, looks around to make sure no ones watching (obviously he didn't look up), and starts urinating on the tree. Nice, french guy, real nice.
Hi! I haven't posted in a while. I do realise this. The internet has been down more often than not, and when it has been working, I really haven't been in a mood for writing. But, you know, that urinating French guy story has just got to be shared, so... perhaps I should thank him? That could be awkward.
Update time!
WEDNESDAY / MECREDI:
We 4 little Australians went to the Université café for our lunch. It costs only 2€85 and you get this...
It may not look like much, but trust me: it's amazing. Like, buttered spinach, and seasoned potatoes and delicious fish, and a beetroot entre thing and a bread roll and a desert, which was like coconut custard. Wow. And they have a choice of things. Those were just what I chose.
Then Amy and I wandered in to the Old Port to buy the books we need to read for our class (yes, reading french books). There are a lot to read, so we each bought 4 of the 5 compulsory texts (we'll buy the other later - 4 books will get us started, no doubt). We have started reading 2 now, one for Litterature Comparée, which is 'Salammbo' by Flaubert, and one for Litterature Francaise, which is 'Armance' by Stendhal. 'Armance' is brilliant and I am loving it. 'Salammbo' I have not managed to love as yet. maybe later...
And Amy, one of the other Novacastrians, is in all my same classes, so she is reading them too. And I am really pleased actually, because she is a grammar geek like me, and also really thinks about what he's reading and analyses it, and so we have had some amazing litterary conversations.
And after that amazing sunrise the other day, we were blessed with a beautiful sunset...
Heavenly. And my favourite colour. And then I stopped to take a photo of the marina by night (after having run down to the beach to watch the end of the sunset). And yes, that is my shadow.

Wow, I'm so thrilled that such a disturbing experience could somehow remind you to remind the poor persons stuck Down Under how awesome your trip is going, before rubbing it in their faces that you're having sooooo much fun and don't care about them anymore ;_;
