Auourd'hui I acquired a number of things.
Top of the list was toilet paper. 12 pink rolls of it.
I also acquired a lot of general food at the supermarché.
Fortunately, I had previously acquired from my aunt in England some antihistamine cream. Bon.
Not today, but yesterday, I acquired a lovely bruise on each of my shins from forgetting that my trundle bed had a hard edge and trying to kneel on it.
Today, the most interesting of my acquisitions was a new friend. Bonnie. She is from Wales. She is here alone, for the whole year, and the same age as me. Engaged she is, for these last 3 weeks, and seems to be missing her chappy quite sorely. Poor girl. Very chatty and thus easy to talk to. We had dinner with her tonight in the common room. And a Korean girl who spoke better English than French leant us her salt for cooking dinner.
I understand how it is so easy to speak English in these dorms.
There was a black-last night at 10pm, so when our laptops ran out of battery an hour later, we went to sleep. I slept from 10 hours. Wow.
I am trying my best to be very tidy and orderly over here, with reasonable bed times and a good diet and exercise regime. (Not too hard with all the walking I am doing over here!)
Tomorrow: to the fruit & veg marché avec Rebekka et Bonnie!
Missing home a bit. With the grungy looking room and all I have put up some photos on the fridge (which is beside my trundle head). And the letter from my grandma.
If anyone wants to write me an actual letter in the post, let me know in a comment here and I will e-mail you my address here.
Lots of love to all.

First French Shopping
I also acquired last night a number of bites on my neck. Il y a les Vampires en France, peut-être?Fortunately, I had previously acquired from my aunt in England some antihistamine cream. Bon.
My Shoulder
I also acquired today a gorgeous blood blister courtesy of my bag of shopping that I had to cart back from the bus stop. They don't have plastic bags here anymore. Just these huge things that could carry a small country, that can be carried on your shoulder. Not today, but yesterday, I acquired a lovely bruise on each of my shins from forgetting that my trundle bed had a hard edge and trying to kneel on it.

Ah! Ma chere! (sorry, too tired to use accents - LOL)
I'm so glad things are working out for you! It sounds like it's already an awesome adventure!
Those shopping bags sound scarily intimidating!!! Wow - i didn't realise English would be so prevalent in the dorms - but then again, it doesn't surprise me!!
Did you find out what those bits are from? Bed bugs? Henry Miller's put me on the wary side of bed bugs! LOL. Hope that antihistamine works!
