The Na Pali coast has to be one of the best hikes in the world! Some hiking group ranked it as grade 10 (most difficult) in their list of hikes. 11 mile strenuous hike. Scenery gorgeous - ragged cliffs nearly 4000ft high, hike terrifying and exhilarating, bags too heavy (took way to much stuff), knees knackered, thighs aching, boots too small, feet sore. But it was all worth it once we got to Kalalau Beach.

We managed the first 6 miles in the first day then set off at first light the next morning and arrived about 1pm at Kalalau. Stayed one night then got up at 4.30am to hike out, took 11 hours to hike out. We ate wild fruits along the way and looked forward to cold beer at the end!

Jurassic Park was filmed on Kauai (and about another 60 odd films) and The Na Pali coastline is in one of the 1st scenes where they are flying along in the helicopter, it's only accessible by boat, helicopter or hiking.
