Arrived in Frisco 5:30 am and headed to a coffee shop with wireless internet connection to find a place to stay. Didn't go well, everywhere full and the others too expensive (if you ever need to go to Frisco at a weekend always book ahead). We booked a hostel, then went there and they had no record of it. That is when we realised we had booked a different hostel with a similar name that we'd read loads of terrible reviews about so we booked another motel (which because it was for that day we couldn't cancel). We realised we would have to pay full price for the hostel if we didn't turn up so went to the hostel and it didn't look that bad after all. We explained the situation to the guy (with puppy dog eyes!) and he said as long as we paid for the second night he would let us off with the money for the first night - cheers Anoo. Confused!? So were we!!
Got to the motel at 1pm.

Had an excellent Friday night - went to a poetry open mic night, Marc O´Harps was playing. One poet´s poem was "I left my fart in San Francisco" that was the only funny one. Organised to meet up with Mark the next day because once again we hadn´t booked any place for the Saturday night (doh!) but Mark had said we could stay with him, nice one. Turned out a bit mental as he had a wobbler and we had to pitch our tent in the back garden because he was scared of what his landlady would say. Then he got us up at about 7am on Sunday to get us out before his landlady appeared! Was quite amusing really. We then headed back to Union Square Backpackers and got a dorm double bed.

Spent a week odd around Frisco - stayed at Union Backpackers the whole time - a cross between Crapston Villas and Rising Damp. Characters galore - Anoo, Alan, Shami, Jennifer. All good fun.

Welly managed to persuade me to hire a bike - yep around Frisco - it must be love either that or I am f**king mental!! Welly is a madman for those hills - people actually stopped to watch him cycle up the mental gradients - while I was having to get off and push!
