After my stay at Yogaville, I decided I was ready to make the big trip "TURN AROUND"! My visit to the South has been much more than I ever dreamed. All encounters opened as a beautiful flower. There were even miracles that followed, but, alas, it was time to head my iron steed in the homeward direction.
My immediate plan is to visit Mimi Alexander in Minnesota and afterward head south through the mountains of Colorado. My sweet departure was crowned by passing over the Blue Ridge Parkway for the final time. I had been playing tag with the parkway for weeks. The Shenandoah Valley begged that I stay, but my new direction was now set into action. Hwy64 covered some great back roads of Virginia right into West Virginia. It was a smooth, beautiful country road ridding adventure. I made sure I appreciated those last moments for oncoming Interstate driving was bearing down upon Goldie Honda and my skills to keep her upright
I had stayed at the prettiest KOA in my entire trip. It was just inside Kentucky. The cabins had bathrooms and dinning tables! Wow! An elegant gift from the camping gods!
The Second day took me through Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. They were a combination of busy and remote. Indianapolis, Indiana was a very clean city surrounded by slow moving people. It didn't have the "big city" feeling-even passing through on the Interstate.
The third day evolved tacking all the toll roads crossing Illinois
I called Mimi to let her know I was approaching her home. She was excited about my visit and told me to keep on ridding! I felt I was getting close to her home. It is just outside Minneapolis from my directions. After following what I thought I understood, Hwy12 just kept going. I called Mimi again and found that I was still 120 miles away! Now, normally that wouldn't be such a big deal; however, there was a city every five miles. When I entered into her area, I was to take this road, to that country road, past the little lake, and make sure I stop turn right here or left there. Finally, I figured it out. She was actually a part of the Witness Protection Plan and was hidding from some hardened criminal. Who knows, but I finally found her farm. It's a beautiful little eight acre place sitting, ah, I believe, ah, somewhere in Minnesota. :-) She was packing to go to an Art Show in Brookings, South Dakota. Mimi makes beautiful silver jewelry. Very quality stuff.
Vernae, hope you enjoy this trip with me!
