As I sat underneath the sun shade watching all the humans running back and forth, I realized that there is a very meaningful dynamic in process.  It is Sunday, May30th, 2010.  Kim and Jeff are putting on another picnic/party that continues to overshadow the last one.  More food than King Solomon.  They are good people.  I suppose that would be the most meaningful thing one could say about another.  There are more kids here than the local nursery.  Everyone is busy living life. As usual, all the kids are trying to outdo the other.  There are games with strange names being played, the parents of the kids are busily helping to make the older ones even fatter, and of course, there's us!  We have now become the oldest generation.  How did it happen?  Where, oh where, did all the years go?  They vanished into the cloud that threatens to poor rain upon the party.  The Great Mystery stood fast and allowed a perfect day of celebration.  Full of laughter, a few tears and plenty, oh my God, plenty of food!  I feel my belt losing its grip upon a very healthy belly
All the gifts in the world would not bestow the worth of what I am feeling.  All the previous young ones were now the old ones and I am feeling thankful to just be here.  I do believe all the older generation is all feeling the same thing, but just not verbalizing it.  Soon, some of us will be making our transition and that same new generation will be lining up to take over the full responsibilities of a fresh, new guard.  The cycle of life continues.  It is unstoppable.  The wonderful gift of life is also terminal.  Only one truly escaped alive and we give thanks to Him for this moment.  He is my Hero.  A friend that be counted upon when most mysteries can not be solved.
I am left here with quiet wishes, silent hopes, and colorful dreams that these young ones can someday feel what I am feeling today.  The blessings of life come only on the heals of anther's death.  We will not understand that fully until some faithful day our eyes will open to see and feel the glory of the Great Mystery.
So, if you are feeling old this morning, be grateful.  You have been given more time than many.  We are closer to this prize of glory than we can ever imagine. Life consists of only a short candle.  Time is but a sniff and then a quick spiral of smoke.  Some day soon we will feel this to be true.  Our job as the older is to take the banner of blessings and teach the younger generation to live in the moment.  That is the only home for Joy.  We must realize that we have never dreamed of what is sure to happen for still another adventure awaits the faithful.  Be generous with your time.  Give it to someone who needs it.  Offer your smile when nothing is left to give and our great Father of Fathers will be well pleased.
My Love To Yours,

I'm elated about Levi's adoption. When you return, I hereby promise to bake him a celebratory Dutch Baby to honor him and his new family. Don't know if I'd seen photos of Cameron and Cory, at least not for several years. What handsome lads! All the cousins and siblings look alike. And they look healthy and happy. Enough to make a Pawpaw proud! Amazing. Amazing grace!

So you're swimming in family these days, east and west. Looks as if the next generation is in good shape. The older ones can keep the faith in them and through them.
