                                                               Beginning My Day
What does the day hold for me? Will it become magical with wonder or will I wonder where it went? How can I become more than I am by starting with a simmering plate of bacon and eggs? How does a single day become both life changing and meaningful? Only one commandment of life is relevant-BE STILL.
If I am to know others, I must first discover where my spirit is parked.  After locating my current spiritual address, I must rope my mind and coral a moment alone. Each and every day leads to headaches, threats, challenges, and an ample amount of blessings. All create moments properly pasted together with paying bills and feeding everything from pets to persecutions.  My responsibility is to be still and listen to all the possibilities that may be in my storehouse. Moment-by-moment my day begins to resemble a life.  Second-by-second my breath will reveal each moments purpose. I can only know a successful day by beginning it with a serene spirit. I can then peacefully eat my breakfast knowing that I have given it my all understanding that there will be time enough to caress my darker enemies and crippled pursutes.  I will be pulled, pushed, swayed, soured, sweetened and swirled into each oncoming hour.
How I address these moments will be derived from how I chose to begin each day. By beginning slowly, I can open my spirit to each opportunity and be ready to offer serenity to each challenge. Only then will I be able to see the day as success even before my shoes hit the sidewalk.  I can move more freely by beginning with a calm, resolute spirit.
Finally, it is left to me to get a handle on things by learning to "un-handle" them. Today is to be considered a gift. There will never be another day quite like this one.  Kiss it, hold it, caress it, and give it away to someone who appreciates the prize...
Try a smile and be sure to give it away.

Derick dear,
You bring joy and you find joy wherever you go. It's a wonderful web of family and friends that we weave into the fabric of our lives. You are threading your way through that web on this trip, and are finding that you have created a rich tapestry, indeed. I'm happy to be a few of those stitches! And thanks for the up-in-the-tree phone call. Terrific to hear your voice!.

You always inspire me with your eloquence. This was exactly what was needed for the day. What a joy you bring into all of our lives, especially mine.
Love You,

Memorial Day Weekend and so much I planned to do every day. Began to feel woozy on Friday - high fever on Saturday, all day in bed. Better today - still spent much of day in bed. Some kind of virus. No Veterans' Memorial Service or picnic for me tomorrow - no dancing in the water at Veterans beach or playing in the sand with the children. My dear Derick. Thank you for a message so meant to feed my soul and lift my spirit.
