So our adventure begins with picking up the RV in Towson, MD (not exactly on the way!) and dropping our spare car at a friend's house where we also met up with Lisa & James for the "kid drop." Back at home, we loaded the RV with all our earthly possessions  - Dave sweat thru a t-shirt – so hot & humid while packing. Bri & James were uber-excited!  Photo-op and we’re off!

Quotes of the day:

Bri – “Don’t forget the quarters.”  Chris & Charlie understand that we are not above bribing children for good behavior.  Each child begins with a roll of quarters; rules of conduct are established and quarters can be gained or lost during our road trip. At the end of the journey, the child receives whatever remains of said quarters  to spend with abandonment.

James (as we are leaving our street) – “Nana, when are we going to be in California?”

Kids were awesome as we made our way to the PA Turnpike, stopping for a dinner break outside Pittsburgh.  Topped off the gas tank for $100! (Mmmm - Yeah - That hurt!)  Dave learned how to do a 17-point turn in a 25-foot vehicle as we made several wrong turns trying to find Hart’s Content Campground. We have the playground view! Everyone snuggled into bed by 11 pm.

Nancy - The photos are wonderful and the commentary really captures the feeling of being along for the ride. Great job! I like the concept of the roll of quarters for the kids along with chances to gain or lose based on performance. If I had to play that game I might come home with something approaching the national debt. Safe travels and keep the stories coming.

Wonderful start to your trip! And I love the quarters idea. I am stealing that idea for our three-week road trip out west later this summer!
