The day after Christmas, we took a trip passing through Blackheath. Blackheath is famous for a place where people were buried during the plague. It is just an open field now, but it is a bit freaky knowing that bodies are underneath your feet. The town of Blackheath has a typical English feel with some old decent houses.
First two days in England was pretty relaxed meeting the parents of Claire. They are pretty laid back and hospitable. They live in a London suburb called Mottingham. There is not much here in Mottingham, but we did our Christmas shopping in a nearby town called Bromley. I was pretty impressed with the shops here. I liked that it had both open and closed shops. There was an outside strip of shops and also an indoor mall. I shared a drink with the family in the local pub. There are two things that you are guaranteed to find everywhere in England and that is a pub and cathedral.
