In the past time we had much rain at least for a total of three weeks with also lots of wind. This resulted in power outs which are awefully annoying because you see how depend you are on power. The really bad part was that most power outs were only in the valencia (the housing place I live in) area, so the whole block but all the others had power.
On other occasions we didn't have hot water for a weekend, or no water at all, (due to breakage of the pump, pipes or other things). It's an experience.
The weather was really strange, because most californians told me it's not normal to have so much of rain in these days, even january and february are the rain season. This can be also see on the streets where the water is usually standing. Someone told me last winter there were only about 2 or 3 days of strong rain. So I guess this was bad luck.

But we also had nice days. On one of this beautiful, sunny days, Flo (he studies mechanical engineering in munich) and I took a mountainbike ride up Madonna mountain. I couldn't imagine that I get all the way to the top by bike but it wasn't bad at all but a lot of fun.

Another night we finally made it to bike night with our bikes which always happens in downtown SLO on  the first Thursday in the month after farmer's market. Many people take their bikes and circle around on the two main downtown streets. Usually each bike night has a motto and so people dress up and have funny decorated bikes.
