I know I'm bad .... haven't written in so long ... there wasn't much interesting you have missed besides that school is quite timetaking and so much different to a German university. It's more like school but maybe even worse besides you don't have as many classes.

Somethings about school:
There are two types of homework I have: one is (e.g. in Spanish) just dull work most of the time and the others are not understandable or makable by yourself and with the lecture notes, books, .... but the professors and classmates are really helpful.
Then there are labreports due every week, midterms, quizzes, papers, ......

On the other hand the tests I have taken in Spanish and Bioelectronics and Instrumentation where quite straight foreward and much easier as tests in a German University but they usually cover more than 5 weeks of lecturing.

But now after a while I get more used to it, and figgered it doesn't alsways have to be perfect, so there's still a lot of work to do but I try to do fun things as well.

So this weekend (10/26-10/28) I made a trip to San Francisco. Thomas and I drove up to San Francisco right after my lab class on Friday. It took us about 4 hours. We drove to the hostel right next to Union Square.
Thomas went right away to a concert with a friend.
Before meeting my friend Vlo from Munich, who is studying at Berkley this quarter I went to Union Square and all the way up in Macy's (a quite expensive store selling almost everything. I saw jeans for 200 dollars and more.) where you can look down onto Union Square.
Then Vlo, Artem (friend of Vlo, who visited him. He's studying in Illinois the whole year) and I went to a bar which had over 100 different vodkas. So they have really different cocktails - vodka with basil and hibiscus, cucumber or ponegranate , ....
It was a fun evening.

On saturday we rented bikes at Fisherman's Wharf and cycled around the bay and over the Golden Gate Bridge. Then up the hill right after the Golden Gate Bridge where you have a great view onto the Golden Gate Bridge and the city (the picture place). Then we headed back again. A great bike ride. I still believe I saw dolfins in the water looking down from the Golden Gate bridge. We saw the sea lions at Pier 39, a big atraction but smelly.
In the evening I went to visit my friend Jackie again. Her boyfriend picked us up to drive to his apartment in San Mateo (South of San Francisco). At his house Jackie made chocolate chip cookies and we all carved a pumpkin.
You can see the results in the pictures - scary?!?!?!

I stayed at there overnight and took the train back to San Francisco in the morning. I meet Thomas again at 12 on Market street but then we both separatly wet shopping - a great place to shop, unfortunately I didn't have enough time.
Finally Thomas had the idea to do a catamaran cruise through the bay. We good on the catamaran on sunday afternoon and it cruised for one and a half hours. It was great getting closer to the bridge and seeing the city from the water as well as felling the breez. There where a lot of sailboats on the water. In the end it got quite chilly but it was an awesome trip.
After the trip we drove back home.

A great weekend in a wonderful city. It has to be repeated. I'll be back in San Francisco on the 30th of November to pick up my boyfriend coming to visit. We'll spend 3 days there.

The only negative point of the trip was the cold I got but I'm almost over it now.
