I know I haven't written in soo long but I was very busy. Therefore I now try to rewrite everything I did.
On sunday I tried to organize my room and found out what I'm missing and in the evening my roommates and I were discussing "the living together" - (Cleaning, shared kitchen stuff, etc.)
On Monday my first day at CalPoly. My first class is Spanish101 - so a beginners class of Spanish from 8.10 to 9 (Monday thru Thursday). It was pretty tough because she spoke Spanish-English mixed and for people who know no Spanish at all, it was not understandable. The problem is that half of the class already know Spanish and so they don't have a problem.
At this point I had 16 credits (4 classes) and that's a lot so I want to drop one class to have the required 12 credits
My schedule at the moment:
Monday: 8.10-9am Spanish and 4.10-5.30pm Bioelectronics&Instrumentation
Tuesday: 8.10-9am Spanish and 12.10-4pm Biomedical Modeling&Simulation+LAB
Wednesday: 8.10-9am Spanish and 4.10-5.30pm Bioelectronics&Instrumentation
Thursday: 8.10-9am Spanish and 12.10-4pm Biomedical Modeling&Simulation+LAB
Friday:   ; 12.10am-3pm LAB (Laboratory) Bioelectronics&Instrumentation
Even these aren't many subjects it's much more intense than in Germany because of the homework. In the first week I only got homework in Spanish, so it wasn't that bad after the first day. On Monday I did around 6 hours homework for Spanish. She made as study a hole page of vocabulary words in one night.
Between my first two classes I met up with Dominik, a guy from Munich who is leaving this month again to go back. I bought his car - a Volvo 760 from 1990. It's pretty nice because everything is electric and it has a sunroof. I now share it with Thomas. We decided it's better to buy it together so we share the risk and the costs. He also wanted a car and I think we can work it out. He's not here over vacation time so I have it for my visitors and me.
I found an insurance company (other Germans with a car told me about it) where you don't need a California driver's license and social security number.
The rest of the day I did my homework and used the internet to skype.
