Today Mark, Thomas landlord, took us wakeboarding. He has a boat and the boards and a big truck to pull the boat. So we started shortly after 4pm here and drove about an hour to the lake - Nacimiento Lake. The lake is near Paso Robles, north of SLO. There we got all set up. Wakeboarding is kind of like snow boarding but very different ;-). No it's like waterskiing but with a board. There's a robe attached to the boat and you hold on to it while on the board. Then you get pulled out which is what I found out the easier part if you are small and light.
The first one to go into the water was Mark's friend Tim(my). He showed us how it looks when you know how to do it. So he also did some tricks. Then Thomas tried to do it. He had some trouble getting up the first times because he's really tall but finally made it on the 5th and 6th attempt. I had less trouble getting up because you don't need a lot of strenght to get up but just be in the right position. I guess because of my snowboarding skills I could keep myself going for a while but I was still a bit shaky on the water. It was really a lot of fun and after 4 or 5 times I was totally done. Thomas took the pictures I added. Then it was Mark's turn as you see. We stayed on the lake quite long and so it got dark when we went back and it was warmer in the lake than outside. It really gets chilly in the evening. The sunset was amazing.
My room starting September 15th at Valncia Apartments. It's quite expensive but you can't change that. (around $790 for a 12 by 12 feet room)
