Gary spoke at morning service in Miami. Small church, quite traditional, lovely people.  It was HOT!  105 or more in the old scale.  Had a chance to chat with pastor over lunch & find out more about the area, mining & lack of mining.

Afternoon: 2hr drive to Safford for evening meeting & film screening.  Had a good group turn up.  The ice cream supper may also have been a draw card! Now there is a novel idea.
 
Stayed with the pastor & family overnight.  In the morning, we were packing up & loading the car.  Carla dashed in saying 'Mum, you have to come outside to see this...'  So I trundle out to have a look & there it was, our first real live tarantula!  She was just about dancing on the spot. This thing was huge, OK very big...um the size of my hand.  Very hairy.  Apparently the males are out looking for their girlfriends.

You can keep the Tarantulas and any other spider if it comes to that. Not my favourite creature Love to all Mum and Dad
