Hiking around Aconcagua

Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Americas, measuring at 6962m above sea level. Even though we didn´t climb it, hiking at its base proved difficult due to the high elevation there (3300m) This 3 day hike got top honours for the most expensive hike our trip.
The views made up for the high price (and the lack of facilities of any kind). TRIP HIGHLIGHT: Camping next to a scrap pile in a parking lot at the entrance of the park. More thumbnails ...
