Afer again waking up ridiculously early, we headed down to the port for a 4 hour boat ride to the Tactile Islands where we would spend the night with a local family. The islands are realtively isolated from the rest of the world and still have alot of traditions such as kidnapping a girl for a couple days if you like her and want to get married. The people there still wear mainly traditional clothing and practice a cross between the Catholic and Andean religion. We stayed overnight with a family and went to fiesta with them that night. The women dressed us all up in traditional clothing ( whether we wanted to or not) The clothes consisted of two skirts, an extrodinarily tight corset, a blouse and a head covering. All of the clothes had been embroidered with reallt bright colours. All the men had to wear was a poncho over theri clothes. The houses were made of of mud bricks but they were very warm ann relatively clean (except for the outhouse....bleugh!) We spent the night there with the families who were all very nice then headed out of the boat the next morning for the four hour trip back.
