I also walked down near the beach where alot of the tourist hotels and resorts are. It was pretty americanized. There were alot of KFC´s and Burger King´s there. The beach was nice though and there were alot of people surfing. But anyhow, I´m off to find something to eat and hope I can find my way back to my hotel. Adios!
Yay! I made it. After an uneventful flight from Miami I finally arrived in Lima. Oh my God it´s soooo hot here.I love it. I ´ve just popped inside for a few minutes before I get heat exhaustion. Customs was no problem to get through and it was really easy to get a taxi.(they were waiting right outside of customs and you could pay before you left) My taxi driver took me to my hotel in Miraflores (a pretty nice area of the city). We both had a great time trying to communicate in a mixture of Spanish and English. His English was alot better than my Spanish though. My group doesn´t meet until 1530 today so I´ve spent the morning wandering around the city. I went to a market that sold everything. I went into the butcher section by accident and was a bit traumatised by hanging piggies though. They even had these gargantuan octopuses for sale! There were also alot of stores that sold only doilies.(Is that how doilies is spelled)I also walked through an art show and past this beautiful church. All of the people here are really friendly (some a bit too friendly...I´m glad I remembered how to say ¨tengo novio¨)
