Well, I've done it... I have made it to Japan!!! Woop woop. It wasn't until we were well past Indonesia (and our second movie - Batman Begins BTW) that I fully comprehended that I was going to go over the Equator line and venture into the Northern Hemisphere... if you're thinking that I should have realised that before, you're right but this is me we're talking about and sometimes details escape me.

Anyhoo, the flight to Japan was actually 10hrs and 50mins not the simple 10hrs I was expecting. Not a huge difference but something unexpected just the same.

Oops, I'm jumping ahead of myself... did you know that the Auckland Airport has changed A LOT! There is a whole new part of the building for departures, a nice flash part which impressed me a great deal. Especially considering that I didn't know about the change to begin with.

Okay, the flight was okay. I believe that I owe a huge thank you to my 24hr movie marathon experience as it taught me to sit down, do nothing and watch movies without having an aching bum. I ventured out of my seat a number of times and used an plane toilet for the first time, it's a scary experience cos man they are fast and loud flushes! I would hate to misjudge the timing on one of those things.

My first meal sucked arse... fish or lamb and I wanted the lamb but when they got down to me all I got was a "You wanted the fish didn't you?" with a menacing smile. Let's just say woo hoo for the cheese and crackers.

10hrs 50mins later we landed in Narita. Japanese airport was big, a travelator thing was taken so I could say I went on one. Then we went on a mini-monorail to get to Customs. Very cool. I managed to escape customs without too many questions... actually, no questions at all which was a surprise considering that I saw four people ahead of me being taken "over to the side" which is never a good sign. Then it was time to catch a bus to Tokyo - more sitting down doing nothing but at least I can say I was doing nothing in a brand new hemisphere!

Stay tuned for my first Tokyo sights and adventures...

Woop Woop
I cant believe that is the first time you used a plane toilet - what about all those times you went to Oz!

All I can say is it is a good thing that you had watchable movies - it helps the time pass A LOT. Keep the blogs coming - we all want to hear about all the crazy stuff you will be getting up to.

Have fun, hugs for you and Mum

Love Kins

Thank Nathan for me... I would have loved to see his little song and dance.
