Thursday: Driving tour of more Rob Roy country: 105 miles round trip from Dunblane, through Comrie, Lochearnhead, Killin, Kenmore & Aberfeldy, Crief & home. Went along Loch Earn and huge Loch Tay. Saw snow on Ben Lawers, a 3,000 year old yew tree, a Druid stone circle, a great bridge over the River Tay, some nice shops and coffee shops with good cake! Both love the coffee and walnut cake best. The Castle Menzies was not open yet. Temperature was about 3 degrees. Friday: exercise class, work and pub dinner at the Village Inn this time. Steve walked there to meet me after work....I like this way to finish work on a Friday. Sunday: Sunshine....such a shock, decided to hit the road before we missed it. Left by 9:30 and drove a different route through the Trossachs. Saw Loch Venechar and had a walk through the woods there. Then to Loch Katrine just to peek...they have scenic boat tours round the loch and an option to rent bikes for the return 14 mile trip. Up and over the Duke's Pass which was very twisty & turny with narrow roads, a bit stressful. Steve drove today. Then we found ourselves at the David Marshall Lodge and had to stop in for soup. I was ticked because the parking lot cost 2 pound for the day, and that is very steep if you just want a quick lunch or coffee. We did walk down to the lovely waterfalls (as per previous blog). Then headed home via 2 lengthy diversions that added to my headache....so was glad for tea at home. The weather stayed good all day though and was 10 degrees at one point.
