Day 341 ;

Well if you want to go trainer shopping, the Bronx is the place to go!! So many "Sneaker" stores you don't know where to start!! We started about nine and just walked up and down Fordham road in and out of shops, found some trainers and we'd finished by about twelve, went back to the apartment and gave Claires knee a rest and a chance to warm up, this cold really isn't agreeing with us, going to take a while to get used to it again, her knee has been playing up, but the cold is making it worse! As soon as she gets into the warm it starts to feel better, weird huh!!
By two o clock we were a little bored so made our way downtown in search of a theatre on 13th between 5th and 6th we had found online under off Broadway shows, so we took the 4 train and got off at Union Square to take a look at that, wandering around, she couldn't resist when we saw an accessorize, so got a few bits in there.

We found the theatre and bought ourselves some tickets for Sundays Sandra Norgrens adaptation of A Christmas Carol - apparently only two versions of it you should see according to NYC theatre, this one and the Madison Square Garden production. Only stumbled across it by chance, when looking for a something we could afford!! We'd wanted to see one of the full on Broadway productions, but that will have to be next time!!
So we will have to wait and see how it turns out!! The theatre is pretty cool though, real small, tucked away in this old building, everything inside is ancient, old timber everywhere and posters and a small little box officer, just had a real quaint, olden' day feel to it, the genuine thing if you get what we mean!!

After that we thought we'd take a walk around and check out done things we wanted to see, so we walked back past Union Square, walked through NoHo, walked a lot further than it looked on the map, but eventually came across Little Italy which we wanted to see so that was good, all the Italian restaurants and all the Christmas decs, we could pretty much Chinatown as well so that's that ticked off!!!

Missed 4th ave, as down that low its not called 4th ave, and were just above to give up and sit down except we were too cold when we recognised where we were, we'd gone right across to 6th, hopped onto the tube and managed to get a seat for the long ride home, grabbed some food and went back to warm up!!

We're enjoying seeing everything but god knows how people do this day in day out, not so sure we could hack living in a big city, you seem to spend all your time underground or that's how it feels, maybe its the not driving or whatever, but even when you pop your head above ground your dwarfed and closed in by these huge buildings, you literally have to stand and crane your head right by just to get a glimpse of the sky!! Horrible!!
That, and the subway rides are just uncomfortable, no one looks at anyone, you all try to avoid too much eye contact, hardly anyone talks, everyone kind of picks a place on the floor or in mid air and just stares or pretends to be asleep, or has headphones jammed into their ears, or plays on their phone, its just weird!!!
