Today was Central Park day!! Being Sunday , what better to do?? Plus, no way we could handle shopping two days in a row!
Made our way in from Queens again by bus and train , and emerged on 50th and Seventh, walked north the nine blocks until we reached Central Park.
Had a walk around the Christmas/craft market there before we set off on the mission!!
So many people running and walking in the park, nice to see it busy, we started on the west side and made it to the far north of the park before having to grab some food, we left the park and found a subway, Footlong!!! Each!! Then off we went, along the northern part of the park, found the ice skating and gave that a bash, can't say we did that well, but it was busy and its been while!!! Plus its something you have to do, ice skating in central park!! It's a must!!
After that was getting late in the afternoon, we started walking back down the eastern side, we got about half way and had enough!! We for back through the middle and picked up the subway, eventually after getting a wee bit confused, we found our way home!!
So today, we saw Central Park, technically we saw Harlem, we saw 5th ave and a little of the upper east side and upper west side and we saw Grand Central Station on 5th and the Guggenheim!! Of course not forgetting the beautiful buildings and skyscrapers that surround the park!!
The park was great, huge, but great, so we did three quarters of it, you could spend weeks in there and still not do it all!!
All brown and green, lakes and walking paths, roads even!! Runners and people walking, rickshaws, people selling, lots going on and we had a nice day,
Was dark again by the time we got back, the days just seem to disappear here!!!
