After a lot of sleeping off the previous days fun, we didn't feel tooooo bad,
6hours north by minivan, and let's just say, drinking the dat before a road trip isn't really the best way to do it, besides that, the landscape and scenery is just amazing, mountainous - which we didn't expect from Lao, now we know!! And really just the mist amount of green you ever did see, just a big green mountainous jungle, sometimes cut by a river or rivers which made for awesome views, just roads for miles and miles through nothingness, haven't really felt that far from civilisation before, the most you would see along the way is small wood hut villages on stilts then again more green jungle for hours, pretty spectacular!!!
Arrived in luang prabang. Found ourselves a home, more expensive than I would have liked but Claire was moaning!!she needed some comforts I think!! on the plus we have tv, free WiFi and our own bathroom so its not all bad!! And by that I mean she's very quiet!!!only joking Claire xx
Crappy expensive dinner and oh yes you guessed it, lots of rain....
What an amazing day, booked the mini van to the waterfalls yesterday so it was all go go go straight away, we got to the waterfalls after about an hour or so after dome pretty reckless driving but we made it in one piece.
Got talking to a few people then started to walk, didn't realise there was a bear sanctuary there so it was pretty cool to be faced with these little bears!
Carried on walking and came to the first part of the waterfal decided to walk to the next one for a swim, got to it and loads of people where already in the water swimming, after a quick dip of our toes we decided it was definitely freezing but still went in Lao! All got in eventually, it was so nice clean and blue, Phil swam over to where the water falls over the edge and stayed there for a while, the force was emence!
After a while the shivers took over so it was time to get out and at exactly that point the skies decided to open and it started light but got harder and harder, walking as quickly as we could up the muddy path almost slipping over countless times we made it the the shelter of a cafe, the rain continued so just sat chilled and talked.
The rain was refusing to stop and our time was running out so we went for it we had to see the top part, after a short walk we got there I don't think amazing is quite enough of a word to explain it but definitely worth being soaking wet and freezing cold for!
Got back had a nice look warm dribble of a shower, we finely got round to updating the blog! It's great having these phones as most is done as we are on the move (writing while on the bus at mo) but the picture need to be moved regularly so we have to go to a computer! Hence the delay!
