We finally got our book we ordered and once that was done off we went in mid morning, boiling hot! the last two days have been ridiculously hot and we have been told its only going to get worse and we are heading in land after Goa! not looking forward to that!
Went and got our package wrapped, they stitch muslin round the box and stitch a little plastic wallet onto it, took that and posted it - 1200 rps..ouch, by sea mail (cheapest) and that will take possibly one and a half months to get the UK - fingers crossed
We arrived at candolim and got collared by a lady who had a guest house, but at that point we had not seen the beach and thought it was too expensive so in true Phil and Claire fashion in the hottest part of the day decided to go for a walk with big heavy bags on backs
So we walked for a while and decided this beach was not for us I have never seen so many people on a beach! we crossed back some sand/grass to the road we got talking to a taxi and shop owner for a bit, then headed to the one place in our guided book that said they had a pool, we found it bit too much money but they had a cheaper guest house down the road and we could still use the pool result! so for the rest of the day we chilled by pool and could at last cool down - seriously - a swimming pool has never felt that good!
Claire had a tandoori prawn naans wrap, wuhoo!! and she kinda liked it!
Phil got some pretty nasty bites that swelled up, good job mummys taught us about anti histamine cream ay, bring anthisan cream for bites otherwise the itching will drive you nuts!
Day 56 ;
Met a mother and daughter from Brighton, weyyy!! shared a taxi with them to the night market near arpora which was pleasant, odd but pleasant, kind of a mix between your weekly local market and a beer festival, live music and food, 90% westerners so basically just wandered around a bit, got a little drunk then we came back, more drinks and dinner.
Day 57 ;
Stayed one more day, the pool is a luxury too hard to give up! and that's pretty much where we stayed all day... yes very lazy and boring we know but swimming pools and good company don't come along every day and we'll have oodles of culture when we leave Goa....
