Cuzco or Cusco was the Inca's civilization capital and now is Peru's tourism capital. Today it is the ideal base to explore the various sites located in the aptly named Sacred Valley (that I visited) and includes the towns of Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, Chinchero, Sacsayhumán, etc. Therefore it was the base in order to visit Machu Pichu the mist-cloaked lost city of the Incas that is arguably the most famous sight in all of South America and one of the 7 modern Wonders of the World.
I was planning to stay there just 3 days (5 with the long bus trips) and then go to Ica and Nazca in order to visit the Nazca Lines and the "Reserva Nacional de Paracas" but a strike in some towns caused closed roads so I stayed 2 days more in Cusco. It was something that didn't disappointed me because as soon as I arrived in Cusco I realized that apart from the beauty of the town and the places around there, it was a really great opportunity to live that city once the good company that I found there made my stay awesome!
Aaron, Jorge, Alfredo, Jorge and Arnau are some of the guys that I met there since my first day of arrival and I realized that apart from the climbing interest that we have in common we could share many ideas, thoughts and points of view that could linked us in a different ways as human beings! I have a great memory of this city and I really would like to return or meet all these guys in another place in order to return the favor that they made to me by spending these wonderful days with me, showing me the city, taking me out for climbing, drinking and make me feel at home at all moments! A huge thank to them for their contribution to make these days unforgettable! :-)
